Description

Palo Verde and Cipanci Boat Safari with pottery secrets at Guatil (Zona 2).

Palo Verde is a vital ecosystem in Costa Rica. These wetlands provide shelter to a wide range of wildlife in an area that, during the dry season, suffers the side effects of the lack of water, making it one of the best places in Guanacaste to spot wildlife. We will spend 2 hours on our boat tour, spotting animals and learning about the area’s natural history. This area is known to have crocodiles, iguanas, lizards, monkeys, anteaters, bats, herons, and egrets, among others. One of the best ways to get to know a region is by its gastronomy, so we will head to Rancho Los Coyotes for an authentic traditional lunch, where you can taste popular dishes like: picadillos, tortillas, and gallina achiotada. After lunch we will have a hands-on pottery presentation led by a member of the Guatil
community, known for its pottery making, a remaining practice of the Chorotegas Indigenous people.
